Age: 23 WHO AM I? I graduated from an Italian High School (in Sao Paulo) called Dante Alighieri. I went to college at FAAP, where I studied “Social Communication.” Today I work with online media, and have already worked with various agencies including Rapp Digital, AG2, and Wunderman. I am currently an analyst in “Online Metrics” for Globo. It’s not a coincidence that I am working in Internet related fields. Ever since I was 9 years old, I’ve been an active user. When I turned 14, I forced my parents to install broadband at home. Those were the days of “ICQ,” Napster, and Online video games. When I turned 15, my two best friends and I, (Coincidentally we are still best friends and all work with the web) created our first blog. The blog talked about the happenings and news of our high school classroom. Of course, we didn’t have Wordpress or Blogger. It was a Geocites page, but the format was very much like the blogs we see today. Of course, our blog didn’t last 3 months. The principal made us shut it down, since he was afraid that we would end up badmouthing the institution etc. Back then I didn’t know that my future as a working professional would be with the internet. I remember that in the year 2000, nobody knew that the internet would have such immense professional potential. Today, as an advertising executive, I don’t see myself working anywhere but the web. These days I am passionate about: Advertising, Human Resources and PR via social networks. These are the things that made the rules of the game change, a game that had stayed stagnant for 20 years. My thesis, which I recently completed with a group of classmates, consisted of creating an “Alternative Reality Game.” For those who don’t know, it’s a type of game, which creates an “alternative reality.” Users participate through the internet as well as through other mediums. You can check out the results at www.salveoplaneta.org In the game, we simulate a 16 year old girl, who travels back in time from 2068 to 2008. Through this, we explore what we need to change in our present to avoid an apocalyptic and perverse end of the world. We have used a mix of social networks and gadgets to advertise the project. I am very interested in the innovation, development, and evolution of online social networks. I plan to apply to this interest to theblogas well as my professional life in general. I am also a fan of TV series, Cinema, and IDM (Intelligent Dance Music). My hobbies are clubbing and running during the weekends.
